A perfect triangle of rich yellow grasses frames up Bowman Lake in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Photography Tip: I often discuss this image when teaching photography classes on composition. I use this one to illustrate a lesson on photographing geometric shapes and patterns. The point of the lesson is simple: the human eye loves simple shapes and repetitive patterns. This image works for me because my eye sees so many triangular shapes all throughout the image.
Build your composition around easily identified shapes and you are on the way to a compelling image.
Beautiful Bowman Lake is one of the spots that we will visit next weekend on my Glacier National Park Photography Workshop with the Wilderness Institute at the University of Montana. Our weekend workshop is almost full but there is still room a few more participants. More details at http://bit.ly/1mMlEqb
