DMarx-2014-02-04-7396-Edit-The Winter Path Up To Grand Prismatic Hot Springs.jpg
The snow covered walkway that leads up to Grand Prismatic Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park can look like the path to a smoking volcano on a snowy winter day. The mix here of boiling geothermal water with snow and ice is always fascinating.
Photography Tip: Leading lines work. Your viewer's eyes need direction. Use leading lines to move your viewer's eye deeper into the frame. I carefully composed this image so that the boardwalk leads the eye deeper into the frame and eventually out to all that crazy steam.
I will be leading another Yellowstone in Winter Photography Workshop this February. This small group field photography adventure is a great opportunity to see the world's first National Park in its quietest season. More details at http://bit.ly/1NKVay2
