Black and white infrared works really well for me with partially cloudy skies and strong direct beams of light. Here the digital infrared capture adds to the surreal world of calcified trees and geothermal pools at the Mammoth Hot Springs Terrace in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. The shifting geo-thermal springs slowly cook the tree's roots creating a world of strange skeleton shapes. Photography Tip: When you are shooting landscapes look for interesting skies. If the sky is just a flat field of gray, or blue, then try to build compositions with as little sky as possible. On the other hand, if your sky has strong clouds, or dramatic colors, then include a large slice of it in your composition.
