David_Marx_Photo_083343-Edit-Beautiful Rocks- Lake McDonald Sunset.jpg
Sunset colors surround the beautiful rocks on the shore of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, Montana.
Photography Tip: When shooting around water, and other reflective surfaces, use a circular polarizing filter to remove surface reflection. The rocks and pebbles of Glacier's lake shores are incredibly colorful but without a polarizer the camera will not be able to see past the glare on the lake's surface.
Processing Tip: I used Adobe Photoshop Lightroom's Graduated Filter tool to shape the overall image. I used a Graduated Filter to cool down and saturate the foreground rocks while a second Graduated Filter adds warmth to the distant sky.
