David_Marx_Photo_023283_Exposure Blend-Edit-Little Kayakers Big Canyon.jpg
Digital black and white infrared photgraph of two small kayakers flating down the Colorado River beneath the towering walls of the Grand Canyon. This image was improved with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 and Adobe Photoshop CS 6.Photography Tip: Grand Canyon National Park is a hard place to shoot. It is hard to create a sense of scale with towering sandstone and schist cliff walls that rise up thousands of feet above the river bottom. When I shoot huge landscapes like this one I like to include a human element in my composition. Including the tiny kayakers in the scene turns this type of photo into an adventure story. The inclusion of a human elements also helps to give the viewer's eys a stronger sense of scale.
