David_Marx_Photo_009438-Edit-Valley of Fire Rock Spiral.jpg
I found this fascinating rock spiral while camping at Valley of Fire Sate Park, Arizona. I knew that to capture this powerful scene well that I needed to shoot this scene just before sunrise. Unfortunately, in my original capture the sky is bright and more colorful than the rocks. The trouble is that the bright sky draws the viewer's attention away from my subject.I finally have the post-processing tools that I need to draw the eye back to the rock spiral now thanks to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5’s new Radial Gradient Filter. Using the Radial Filter I can add a little "spotlight" of light to the spiral so that it really pops!I used this image in a live demonstration of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 Beta's new Tools the other night on the Google+ Landscape Photography Show.
