Photography Tip: Most photographers know about "golden hour light" which is the time period just before sunset. I certainly like the gold colored light that we often get late in the afternoon but most of my favorite camping, and architectural shots, come from the time period that follows sunset as world begin to slip into the blue of night.
The "blue hour" is my favorite time to make pictures where there is a mix of natural and artificial light. I love shooting campsites, and cityscapes, post-sunset. I love shooting scenes with multiple types of light at this time of day because the camera does a great job recording the strong color contrast that gets created when the cool blue tones of dusk mix with the warm yellows of artificial light.
