The world slips into blue, and the red warning light for sailors at the Ram Island Lighthouse appears, as night begins along the rocky coast of Maine.
Photography Tip: I love shooting around moving water at dusk. I love the way that the water blurs with a long exposure. When I am shooting this kind of composition I suggest looking for the right mix of blurred and stationary. Try to find places where there is lots of wave action and interesting rocks to create a little contrast between the still and the moving parts of the image.
This is one of the locations that we will visit this October during my *Coastal Maine Photography Workshop* at the Spruce Point Inn Resort & Spa. This photography workshop is centered on the sea and its endless photographic possibilities!

We will float from island to island in our own private motorboat each day while out photographing beautiful harbors, remote lighthouses, and working lobster boats. This is a terrific opportunity to improve your photography while enjoying the cuisine and hospitality of Maine’s finest resort.
