Our group enjoys a roaring campfire and a moonlit night at Pipe Springs in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona.
Photography Tip: Blocking the brightest part of the firelight from shining directly into my camera's lens with something is a trick that I use whenever possible to prevent that area of my campfire ring images from blowing out.

In this case, the "American flag chair" made the perfect shield for the most intense part of the fire's light. But I still had to shoot a lot of these frame before I was certain that I had the right moment when the firelight did not rise above the back of the chair and yet the fire's glow was still bright enough to illuminate my friends faces.
