Round hay bales sit in a freshly cut field beneath stormy skies in Creston, Montana. This is a black and white digital infrared photograph that I fine tuned using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop CC, and Silver Efex Pro from Nik Software.
Photography Tip: I often discuss this image when teaching photography classes on composition. I use this one to illustrate a lesson on photographing geometric shapes and patterns. The point of the lesson is simple: the human eye loves simple shapes and repetitive patterns. Build your composition around easily identified shapes and you are more likely to capture a compelling image.
